Summer shore league match 2 Dee estuary rover

The second match of the summer saw 22 members dressed for November weather instead of May, with heavy showers and a brisk wind making things a bit uncomfortable. The fishing was grim, with a lot of rain water and floating weed making for hard work all round.
By the time we got back to weigh in , 19 of us had found at least one fish, with the top bag only 4 flounders and 3 eels, it was a big disappointment after the same match last year saw some big bags weighed in.
Top on the night was Gary Bates, with 4 flounders and 3 eels for 2.40 kgs.
Mike Peters was second with 2 flounders, a plaice and an eel for 1.59, 3rd Paul Jones with 2 eels and a plaice for 1.52,, to take the lead in the league, and the last of the prize money went to Dave Mitchell, 4th with 8 eels and a flounder for 1.30.
Adam Davies was 5th with a plaice of 1.20 ( 2-10-04 lbs.) to take the heaviest fish prize, and Colin Elmer took 6th place with 2 eels, a flounder, and a dab for 1.16. Jordan Davies took the junior prize with a flounder and an eel for 0.67, and top team were Gary and Mitch with 71 points.
