20 members signed on in torrential rain, expectations weren`t too high with so much fresh water coming down the river, but at least it wasn`t windy.
Most of us decided on the walk out to Talacre, based on the theory that there`s always fish there. Just shows how wrong you can be doesn`t it.
After a few casts there were one or two dabs showing up, and no sign of the rain easing, then we were hit by a sudden gust of wind, at least two brollies made a bid for freedom and flew away, ( mine included ). From then on the wind and rain didn`t let up.
At the weigh in Billy McLintock had 3 dabs for 0.73 kgs. to win, Dan Davies took 2nd place with a dab and a flounder for 0.57, the flounder also took the heaviest fish prize at 0.37. Dave Jones had two dabs for 0.43 in 3rd , and I managed to find the best of the 7 single dab bags for 0.24 and 4th, 5th was Mike Peters with one of 0.23, and 6th Dave Lunt with one of 0.22.
Two teams scored 63 points, Bill McLintock and Dave Elmer, and Mike Peters and Dave Lunt. Stephen Higginson took the junior prize, and once again no ladies took part.
