Only 12 members turned up for the first match, with a strong cold westerly wind and a few showers it was more like November than May. There was a lot of fresh water in the river, as well as the algae causing some problems, so the catches were well down on expectations, but most of us had one or two flounders
by the end.
John Jones took first place and the heaviest fish prize with 7 flounders, a bass and an eel for 3.42 kgs. Arwel Davies was 2nd with 2 flounders, a codling and an eel for 1.27, Gary Bates was 3rd with 4 flounders for 1.11, and Mike Peters 4th with a codling and a flounder for 1,10.
