Only 2 juniors fished the second leg of the junior summer league at Benarth today.
Tom Jones had the lurgy and so went to bed and Stephen Higginson is on holiday so it was left to Thomas and Jack to use the fantastic crab that were provided
FREE OF CHARGE by Joe of Jokers tackle in Colwyn Bay.
We kicked off at the same time as England, but fortunately our result was better with the fish coming in thick and fast from half an hour in.
Thomas was first to catch with a Flounder of 32cms.
Jack was close behind with one of 27cms.
Next up was a double header for Tom, a 21cm Flounder and his second Bass of the year, measuring 50cms.
Another Flounder for Tom took him well into the lead, but Jack started his comeback by finding the Eels on the feed.
Thomas managed a small Eel and another small Flounder while Jack was catching up by bagging a couple of better Eels.
Thomas was 14cms ahead when the last cast was sent out. Jack just needed one fish more than Tom to take the victory and they both had bites on the last cast.
At 6pm they both reeled in and both had Eels. Jacks measured 40cms but Toms was 50cms and sealed the victory for him.
Thomas Davies won the match with 4 Flounders, an Eel and a Bass for a total length of 231cms. He received £10 and a rod bag kindly donated to the juniors by Alan James. ( Thanks for that and the reel you donated Alan, which will be given as a prize at the end of the league ).
Jack Peters was second with a Flounder and 4 Eels for 207cms and received £5.
Both kids also got a goody bag, again from Jokers in Colwyn Bay.
Me and Terry had a dangle too. I managed an Eel for the hunt although i was Bass fishing and put to shame by Thomas
I did lose a better fish though which could have been a schoolie. I had a small Flounder too on my 3/0 pennel.
Terry already had his Flounder and Eel but had a few of each on his 2 rods. He also found a small Codling and a Short Spined Sea Scorpion for the hunt!
