11 members turned out for the final match of the league, on a fine evening with a bit of a breeze from the South West. It wasn`t flat calm, but that didn`t stop the pin whiting from feeding, it was just a matter of finding the bigger ones , which along with a few dabs and a lone little dog made up the bags. Norman was unlucky, with a 43 cm. bass that didn`t count.
Top bag on the night went to Barry Haigh, with 15 whiting and 3 dabs for a weight of 3.64 kgs. Bill McLintock was second with 10 whiting and a small dog for 3.18, the dog taking the heaviest fish prize at 0.51 kgs. 3rd place went to myself with 10 whiting and a dab for 2.23. Norman took the last of the cash, in 4th with 1.80, Dave Lunt was 5th with 1.68, and Paul Jones 6th with 1.55.
Top team on the night were Norman and myself with 69 points.
After double checking the 12 results this morning, Mike Peters is this year`s Summer league champion with 313 points, just topping Dave Mitchell`s 312, I was 3rd with 304.
Team champions once again were Dave Mitchell and Gary Bates with 605 points.
