15 members fished this first match, with a bad forecast and a shortage of fresh crab it was always going to be hard work, but it`s the worst match we`ve had here in a good few years, with just 4 anglers weighing in.
Gary Bates must have had some good frozen crab, his 3 flounders beat the combined catch of everyone else added together!
Gary won it with 1.99 kgs. his best fish was a stonking specimen of 1.03 kgs. ( 2-04-04 lbs.) if it hadn`t been spent it would probably have threatened the long standing club record.
Mike Peters took 2nd place with one of 0.63 kgs. Dave Roberts was 3rd with one of 0.40, and Mark Hill 4th with one of 0.18.
We had a vote before the match, and it was decided to start drawing the golden card at the end of the match instead of beforehand, also we will cap the golden card pool if it reaches £500, any entry money beyond this figure will be held for the next kitty.
Owing to the low turnout at this match the entries for the K.O.cup and teams will be kept open until the next match.
