Four juniors fished the first leg of CBVSACs junior summer league at Deganwy yesterday, including new member Hari, so welcome to him!
With the top 3 bags coming from near the signal box in the shore sections match here a fortnight ago, we decided to head for that area, although hopes weren’t high after several days of heavy rain and easterly winds.
Sadly, the fine crab that Joker had provided went mostly to waste, with nothing in the first half of the match, fishing in the supposed hotspot.
As the tide was well on the ebb, I had a chat with the competitors, and we all decided to up sticks and move to the mouth of the narrow to see if the Flounder had moved down with the tide.
Sods law dictated that as the lads all reeled in, one of them would have a fish, and the lucky angler was Jack Peters, with a Flounder of 24cms.
We moved anyway, but the rest of the match passed by without incident, not even a knock between them!
Jack won £7.50 with his Flounder, and the remaining £7.50 prize money was shared between the other 3 competitors.
Here they are after picking up their winnings.
It was nice of Joker to pop down to see the kids and see if the peeler crab he had again provided free of charge were working, maybe with Sundays match in mind eh Joe?
