67 anglers fished Colwyn Bay Victoria sea angling clubs Fur and feather open at Llandudno on Saturday evening.
The strong westerly winds made conditions difficult with many anglers giving up before the end of the match, but those who stuck it out were rewarded with bags of Dogfish and lots of Whiting. Finding the Whiting over the 27cm size limit was very difficult with many between 25 and 27cm taking the baits.
The match winner was Ashley Sampson from Blackpool, with a mixed bag of Dogfish and Whiting for a weight of 16-01-08lbs and taking the £200 top prize and 6 Penn points. He was fishing in A zone.
Second place and £100, went to Holyheads Richie Hughes with 14-06-00lbs of Whiting and Dogs from C zone.
Mike Emery, who had travelled over from the Isle of Man took third place with Whiting, Dogfish and a Thornback Ray weighing 05-10-08lbs, for a total weight of 12-11-00lbs fishing from C zone for £66.
This Ray was the heaviest round fish of the match and the heaviest flatfish was a Dab of 00-12-08lbs caught by Dave Jones from Colwyn Bay.
The junior prize went to Lucretia Williams Jones with 00-06-08lbs.
