Just to see if there is any interest before i go booking the charters.
A series of boat matches over February and March, sailing from Rhyl either 7 or 8 hours duration, probably 4 days fishing over all, 2 in Feb and 2 in March, if the interest is there i would prefer to keep it at 8 anglers per boat so if we can get 16 people interested i would book 2 boats, you dont have to be a club member to take part in the competition, i'm not sure on cost at the moment but as soon as i find out i will post the price here, there will be plenty of hot drinks throughout the trips and hot pasties or pies so you wont be going hungry.
I have not given much thought as to the match format as yet but if i can get it off the ground i will try to make it as interesting as possible we could also have team events incorporated into the format, novices are welcome and there should be a few of the more experienced small boat anglers showing some interest, i'm sure they wont mind helping passing on their skills to the less experienced.
As soon as i receive the available dates and sailing times i will post them here.
If you are interested you will have to commit to the 4 dates and if for whatever reason once you have booked your place and you cannot make it on the day it will be your responsability to either find a replacement or pay in full for your trip ( sounds a bit harsh that but i have been let down before and it costs )
Down to the fishing what can you expect to catch? hopefully if the weather is kind and we can get to some of the marks a bit further offshore dabs should be plentyfull with what is a bit of a rarity this year the once very common whiting should put in an appearance, dogs, huss, rays codling and various other species could show up, one thing is for sure there will be plenty of banter and the competition will only be for fun, if the interest is there i will try to get hold of a little trophy for the winner, winner's, the competition will be run on a league basis with your points tally building from match to match and the comp will be C&R unless you want to take fish home for the pot that is.
