Just 14 of us for the Dee estuary rover, or the Talacre dabfest,as it could be known. 4 chose to head for Mostyn, leaving 10 of us to trek out to Talacre.
Only 11 weighed in, but it`s worth noting that the top 4 bags went to the 4 who walked the furthest to the right, upstream of the green buoy.
Dabs and more dabs were the order of the day, with a few flounders and decent whiting amongst the shoals of undersize whiting and dabs.
I was fishing on my 60th birthday, and the gods must have been watching, because my trek to fish furthest to the right was rewarded with the top bag of the day, 25 dabs and a jammy last cast flounder, for a weight of 4.49 kgs.
Mitch was next on my left, and took 2nd with 25 dabs and 5 whiting for 4.04 kgs, ( his dabs must have been smaller than mine)
Next on his left was John Jones , who took 3rd with 18 dabs and a whiting for 3.24, and next on his left was Gary Bates who took 4th with 15 dabs and 2 flounders for 3.11
Mike Jones Included a 1-11-12 lbs flounder in his 5th place bag of 2.87, a good fish for Talacre, but pipped for the heaviest fish prize by this

Sam took 6th with 1.96, and Mitch and Gary were top team with 70 points.
Here`s the best 2 fish meeting one another at the weigh in
