| North or Northwesterly on windmap Dan, if we do end up in the Straits and the wind is as they predict we could open it up so we can fish Caernarfon bay as well, see what it's like Sunday morning. | |

| well gary unfortunatly i will not be on goldilocks sunday as i have contracted an embarrasing rash so the boat will go hungry and steve quinn is now a fully paid up member so he will be on form if he turns up i think it is unfair that gwynie the pooh blames me for al the sh;t on the boat he has not forgiven me for cork when i missed the bucket and hit his smock. mind you he is not done one in the bucket since then i think he is emotionaly scarred or thick. good luck to morrow stay of gwynies marks which is the whole straits so head for white beech he is scared of going to far. watch out for frank he is on fire like the last match is he a full shilling i have me doubts bob carries him. well boys take care have good one fishy | |

| With the forecast of north-westerly for Sunday we decided to give the Menai Straits a crack for the fourth match of the league, we were guaranteed near flat calm conditions with any wind blowing over the top, launching off the beach at Moel y Don the five boats were on the water in no time, handy little slip this but there are plans to sell it to a private enterprise then it would be lost to the members of the public who use it, there is a petition being organised to object to the sale of this facility, petition forms are in local tackle shops so if you come across one please sign it. With low water at Pwllfannogl around 1500hrs we were fishing mostly ebb which is not the best prospect in the Straits however we managed to pick up the odd fish then we hit a bit of a purple patch on the first of the flood but we didn’t do enough to win the match that honour went to Bob and Frank on Bass Hunter who caught 10 species and 2 over specimen size plus top weight to give them 56 points, Rosea was second with 9 species and 1 over specimen weight and O2B@C was third with 10 species, the heaviest flatty pool went to Dan and Adam on O2B@C with a flounder of around 1-02-0, the heaviest round fish pool went to Bob and Frank off Bass Hunter with a fine Huss of around 8-10-0 this is the biggest Huss I have seen taken from the Straits and was caught well within casting distance.
Elwyn Bach fishing off Garramma 11 took this bass early in the match
Match winners Bob and Frank with a Huss of 8-10-0 and Ballan of 3-06-0, both fish were returned after weighing.
Well done to Bob and Frank I believe it was a team effort, Bob caught the fish and Frank supplied the catering including some very nice cherry pies The weights in this report are from memory so they may not be accurate. Thanks to all who took part

Theres no need for that Frank its below the belt!!! How were we to know about that stupid rule (that fish we had was a shanny completly different to a tompot, but because it was a member of the blenny family we could'nt weigh it in because we had a tompot in the bucket , im sure you lot made that rule up on the day because you were running scared that we were about to whoop your ass at least we know for next time 3rd is'nt bad for our 1st attempt in straits watch out next time p.s its o2b@c
