Long time since I've got around to posting on the site... And guess what... I'm after picking somebody's brain! I'm going out on a boat trip out of Rhyl on Thursday and I'm not sure what we need to take in the way of bait? Ive been roped into going with some lads from the pub (to be honest I'm happy to just go along for the ride and the banter which I'm sure will be flowing!!!!) I suppose I should make the effort and try and find out what bait we are likely to need as I don't know if it's a bit early to rely on picking any mackerel up? I know I've left it too late to book any but any ideas would be very welcome! It's only a 5 hour trip so I don't expect too much?
Thanks for your time Sam.
Ps we are going out on Supreme... Not sure which one?

you will probably be able to get bait on the boat but if not, mackeral, lug squid ,rag and maybe peeler crab, jokers in colwyn bay is usually good for bait.

Hi Sam, long time no see.

For general fishing you will need lug and Macky. They are getting Mackeral off Rhyl but im not sure if they are further out than you will go an a 5 hour.

The boats have started getting Smoothies and Bass and you may well fish for these at some point, so crab if you can get some and fresh lug for the Bass.

Its Steve Andrews boat who used to be in the club so the best thing you can do is give him a ring tomorrow to find out if he will be able to supply bait.

Here is a link to his website which ahould have some more info on
http://www.supreme2.co.uk/

If general fishing, baited feathers work well, with lug or macky strip for Gurnards, Dabs, Whiting with the chance of Huss and Rays too.

3/0s on a 3 or 4 foot running ledger for the smuts or bass.

Have a good day and dont forget to post a report on here.

Hope to see you soon.
