18 members, including 3 juniors took part in this match on Saturday, the weather turned in our favour after the gales and rain of the few days before, it was quite a calm but chilly evening.
The fishing was pretty hectic, with whiting on every cast, although 25 to 26 cms. seemed to be the standard size of most of them! Bill McLintock found the best bag of the bigger ones, 17 and a dab, for 3.80 kgs., to take the £50 top prize, plus a tenner for the flatfish pool as his was the only dab weighed in.
Barry Haigh took 2nd place with14 whiting for 2.77 kgs., one of which, at 0.42 kgs took the roundfish pool. 3rd was Mike Peters with 11 for 2.07, Dave Elmer 4th with 9 for 1.78, John Jones 5th with 9 for 1.68, and John Davies 6th with 7 for 1.39.
All 18 weighed in, with Hannah Elmer, in 8th place, taking the junior prize with 4 good whiting for 0.96 kgs.
As there were over 40 prizes we had a very good raffle after the prize-giving, and a very welcome few bowls each of Steve`s hot-pot to follow!.
