16 turned up for the dogfest at the arches over low, including two new members, welcome James and Peri, and everyone weighed in.
The weather turned in our favour, with the wind dropping and the clouds clearing to leave quite a pleasant evening with a bit of movement to the water. Things went as expected, with nothing much happening until dusk, then the dogs came out to play!
The final tally by the end of a couple of frantic hours was, 1st Dave Mitchell with 24 dogs and a silver eel for a credited weight of 24.46 kgs. Only 2 of each anglers dogs being weighed, with the rest returned and counted as a kilo each.
close behind were the usual doggy specialists, John Jones in 2nd with 22 for 21.77, and Bill McLintock 3rd with 20 for 20.20.
Mark Patterson came back from a few months off to take the last of the prizes in 4th place with 18 for 17.98 , just edging out Gary Bates on 18 for 17.91 in 5th,
I managed 15 for 15.34 in 6th. Bill McLintock had the heaviest fish, a dog of 1.28 kgs, and the top team were Mitch and Gary with 69 points. No juniors or ladies fished.
