Another very poor turnout for this one, with 16 anglers including 1 junior.
Some thought it was a little early for the Eels, but with them having shown already at Rhyl and in the Conwy, there was sure to be a few here. The trick was to get them to take the hook, and keep hold of it until they were landed. A skill i have yet to master after my poor performance.
Most people were into fish right from the start. The majority were Eels, with the odd Flounder thrown in to boost bag weights.
The match winner was Mike Jones, with 17 Eels and 1 Flounder for a weight of 5.34 Kgs. His Flounder being the heaviest fish of the match at 0.60 Kgs.
Mitch was second with 24 Eels and a Flounder for 4.96Kgs, Sam third with 12 Eels and 4 Flounder for 3.97 Kgs and Mark Hill 4th with 13 and 2 for 3.62.
Sue was top lady with 2 Eels for 0.59 Kgs and Tom was top junior with 3 Eels for 0.39 Kgs.
Roll on the Dogs next week!!!
Just a note, Terry is taking suggestions for handling Eels at the weigh in after his disasterous efforts with a silly bit of netting
