Im waiting for Terry to send me the pictures before i put them in.
Brother Ad, Terry and I fished just short of where Sam was fishing, and could see Blaster reeling in Wrasse after Wrasse, which was a little annoying, as after having one first chuck, it went quiet where we were on the wrassing rods.
The Doggie rod, resulted in several pups in the first hour, which were put in a rockpool to swim around until bigger ones were caught. Unfortunately, they were all small, and trying to decide which one to throw back, every time i caught one was a pain in the ass!
I also had several Dabs, which were all between 20cm and 22cm, and a small Whiting and a small Codling on the longer range rod.
Adam had a Pout first cast and soon added his Dogs but he was getting fed up not catching wrasse, so decided a move was in order. This suited me just fine, as i quite fancied the gulley he was dropping into, and as he disappeared over the headland, i jumped into his spot. Within 30 seconds, i was reeling in my second in size wrasse.
alas, he was out of shouting range, even for me
I had one of the famous Anglesey Banded Doggies. Some tit thinks it is funny to put rubber bands around the Dogs he catches then throw them back, so as they grow the band cuts into their flesh and eventually they die.
I cut the band off and let this one go as it deserved a second chance.
With regards to the pot boat, it was Terry asking him if he wanted to come and collect the fish at the weigh in, to use as bait, not me abusing him. If he had upset me, i would have been stripped off and after him with my knife between my teeth, a la Bond!
No mention of the porpoises Sam? There were a good few going back and forth in front of us all day, and all sorts of bird life, including Gannets diving when we arrived. Me and Ad did try feathering but didnt get anything! I think our hooks were too small for Porpoises anyhow
7th from last........Out of 9. Thats third in my book and i was happy with that, especially as i beat the other 2 semi finalists in the knockout. So its me versus Norman in the final at Porth Iago!
Lets hope i can do as well against him as i did against Jan in one of the earlier rounds
Bit disappointed with the wrasse fishing though. Its hard work getting 3 Wrasse from here now, and the minis werent playing today either. The only mini weighed in was Mitches Tompot, no Corkwings!
Just a quick word about Mitch, who had two species thrown out at the weigh in
I think we should have a whip round for a new measure for him
