MATCH 3 - SAT. 12th JUNE
LLAM CARW - AMLWCH
The first away match clashed with England`s first match in the World Cup, but 13 of us made the effort anyway. The weather was pretty good, with a bit of a breeze and quite a swell splashing up the ledges as the tide turned.
It`s strange how this venue varies, with one ledge producing dog after dog and the next one a few yards away showing wrasse but no dogs, I`d love to see an underwater view of the whole area. As we have a 3 of each species rule for these matches you need to find a mark where both dogs and wrasse can be found plus anything else that`s around. Only one angler found 3 of each, so the size of the wrasse made a big difference at the weigh in.
Arwel Davies took top spot with 3 good wrasse and a dog for a weight of 3.96 kgs., his best fish of 1.71 ( 3-12-08 lbs. ) taking the heaviest fish prize as well!
Mike Peters took 2nd place with 3 dogs and 2 wrasse for 3.75, with Gary Bates 3rd on 3.67 for 2 dogs and 3 wrasse. Norman Dorling was 4th with 3.18, Dave Jones 5th with 2.99, and Dave Elmer 6th with 2.69.
Top team with 66 points were Gary Bates and Dave Mitchell, and Stephen Higginson took the junior prize.
