We had a family outing to the Foryd last night, to use up the poppers we had and the rag left over from the Holy Island match. The rain started when we arrived, and stopped as we left scratch

The rag had not coped well with a day in the sunshine last Saturday, and nearly a week in the fridge, but it filled some hooks and even caught a fish!

Me and Tom got there about 6, and after setting him up and getting him fishing, his rod was banging away before i had got a trace out! Rolling Eyes

I managed to cast out, and as soon as my rig hit the bottom, i also had a bite. When we both reeled in, Tom had the Eel, and the Flounder was mine.

Grandad came over the hill as the photo was taken. He must have been a good boy and eaten all his tea and so was allowed out to play! cheers lol!

We had lots more bites, but i think the small Eels were struggling to get size 2 Kamasans in their gobs. silent

Tom had the best Eel of the sesh, which he was well pleased with. It weighed just under a pound. Very Happy

He also managed a Flounder on the last cast!

Final scores were 2 Eels and a Flounder for Tom, 2 smaller Eels for Terry and a Flounder for me, and lots of missed bites each!

Come on Dan, you know how time consuming it is taking little kids fishing from taking Adam, and baiting up, tying rigs and casting for him. Never mind unhooking his fish! cheers

The mullet are in that area at low water. They move upstream out of club waters, above the railway bridge at high.

Ive heard of the odd bass in there, but never seen one.

To be honest, we have only really fished it in the last couple of years. We never bothered before Tom started coming. We have found fishing up the flood, from about 3 hours before gives best results, as the fish move up the estuary with the water, and come on to the feed as the flow increases.

We fish from the slipway on the Kinmel Bay side, as it keeps you out of the mud, and the channel is within a short lob, ideal for Tom.
