We had a family outing to the Foryd last night, to use up the poppers we had and the rag left over from the Holy Island match. The rain started when we arrived, and stopped as we left
The rag had not coped well with a day in the sunshine last Saturday, and nearly a week in the fridge, but it filled some hooks and even caught a fish!
Me and Tom got there about 6, and after setting him up and getting him fishing, his rod was banging away before i had got a trace out!
I managed to cast out, and as soon as my rig hit the bottom, i also had a bite. When we both reeled in, Tom had the Eel, and the Flounder was mine.
Grandad came over the hill as the photo was taken. He must have been a good boy and eaten all his tea and so was allowed out to play!
We had lots more bites, but i think the small Eels were struggling to get size 2 Kamasans in their gobs.
Tom had the best Eel of the sesh, which he was well pleased with. It weighed just under a pound.
He also managed a Flounder on the last cast!
Final scores were 2 Eels and a Flounder for Tom, 2 smaller Eels for Terry and a Flounder for me, and lots of missed bites each!
