14 members, including 2 juniors fished on Saturday night on Colwyn Bay prom. The weather had been atrocious earlier in the day, but the rain had stopped by the time we got there, and the wind was starting to drop a bit. The arches end of the prom was shipping a few waves a couple of hours before high water, so most of us went further towards Rhos end.
The fishing wasn't brilliant, with loads of undersize whiting and codling swallowing anything thrown at them, but 13 managed to weigh in at least one in-size fish, the only blanker being yours truly
Mike Peters took first place with 2 whiting, 2 rockling and a dab for 0.71 kgs. His team mate Dave Lunt was 2nd with 3 whiting for 0.53. Rees Havill took 3rd place, and the junior prize with a decent whiting and a rockling for 0.41. and Alan Tinman was 4th with 2 rockling and a whiting for 0.39.
Terry Havill was 5th with 0.36, and Dave Radcliffe 6th with 0.32. Bill McLintock had the heaviest fish with a 32 cm. whiting of 0.29 kgs. and top team were Mike and Dave in an unbeatable 1st and 2nd with 73 points.
The golden card rolled over again and now stands at £133.
