After leading the convoy from Caernarfon, we arrived at the venue with about 10 minutes to spare. 15 members booked in and set off to find a spot to fish.
A nasty North Westerly the night before had left a big swell rolling in, which meant a few of the exposed ledges were pretty uncomfortable.
As it turned out the best bags came from those front ledges, with a 2 of each species limit it was all about finding something different. That didn`t turn out to be as easy as it sounds, with some finding dogs and no wrasse, and others wrasse and no dogs.
The winner was Alan Jones, with 2 dogs, 2 wrasse, a pollack, and a sea scorpion for a weight of 3.20 kgs.
2nd was John Jones with 2 pollack and 2 wrasse for 2.51, 3rd Paul Jones with 2 wrasse and a dog for 2.11, one of Paul`s wrasse took the heaviest fish prize at 1 10 kgs. (2-06-00lbs.) Dave Jones was 4th with 2 dogs and a wrasse for 1.97. Arwel Davies took 5th with 1.57, and Norman Dorling 6th with 1.46. top team were Paul and Dave Jones, and Tom Jones took the junior prize with a corkwing of 0.09.
