| Well, there's not much to report really, me and the bro showed these boats lads how its done by coming 1st with 7 species (dog, whiting, dab, scorpion, coaly,p'cod, pout) I think there were a few boats on 6 species. The fishin was'nt great with nothing decent being caught. We went around the orme 1st thing to try and pick up a wrasse or 2 but there was nothing showing, all we had was a dog.We then went towards west shore for a flounder gave it an hour there and had nothing. We then moved a couple of miles out and tried a bank had plenty of whiting, dabs and dogs there.Next move was to try and a find a couple of wrecks that were pre-stored on the plotter but we could'nt find them (lesson learnt there)! We then went off the l.orme and had a scorpion and a few whiting .Then the last place we tried was a wreck that we fished just after xmas about 5 mile off the l.orme we knew we would find this because we had the correct coordinates for this one! Here we had our pout,p'cod and a bonus coaly So all in all there was plenty of fish but no monsters Happy days p.s it was a bit to wet for piccys and the fish were camera shy!!! | |

| Congratulations to Dan and Adam on winning the first boat match of 2008 on what was a hard day to find the species excluding whiting, dabs and dogs that is. As Dan said they won the match with seven species with Richy Brownson and Roger who fished on Hannah Lou second with six species-whiting-dab-dog-pouting-poor cod-grey gurnard, Bob, Frank & Gary on Bass Hunter were third with six species whiting-dab-dog-pouting-poor cod-sea scorpion. Heaviest roundfish pool was taken by Elwyn Bach (Selby) on Garamma with a dog of 2-12-04. Heaviest flatty pool was won by Josh Andrews (junior) with a flounder of 1-06-08, Josh who fished on his grandads (Gwynnie) boat Goldilocks, Josh also took the junior prize by catching four species. Apologies for the lack of photos but it was a wet grey day and im sure you all know what a dog looks like, will make a better effort at the next match in three weeks time when hopefully the weather and fishing will have improved, all in all the fishing was pretty crap but it was good to get out we saw a group of porpoise about half a mile off the orme and some dolphin about six miles of, plenty of gannetts flying around more than i have noticed in previous years, must be a sign of something And Kev no i'm not embarressed i fished with Frank and he managed to drag me down to his level PS Gwynnie has the results form, so the results above are from memory so i cannot vouch for their accuracy.
