63 anglers fished Colwyn Bay Victoria Sea Angling Clubs Victoria open at North Shore last night.
Dogfish and Whiting made up the majority of the bags brought to the scales, although there were several in size Codling and a couple of Flounders too.
The match winner was George Smith of Grimsby with a bag of 9 Dogfish caught from C zone, giving him a total weight of 18-9-0lbs. This bag earned him the £180 first prize and 6 Penn points.
Ian Brookes ( Liverpool ) was second with 10-4-2lbs of Dogs and Whiting from A zone and Holyheads Richie Hughes was third with 9-8-2 also from A zone.
A first and second prize was awarded to the the top 2 bags from each zone that didn’t feature in the main prize list. These were as follows,
A zone 1st. James Frazer. 9-1-12.
A zone 2nd. Billy McLintock. 7-2-0.
B zone 1st. Dave Morrell. 6-9-12.
B zone 2nd. G. Hughes. 4-2-8.
C zone 1st. Alan Blythin. 8-2-0.
C zone 2nd. Shane Russell. 7-8-8.
The heaviest roundfish was a Dogfish weighing 2-13-8 caught by Darren Jones and Dave Lunt won the flatfish pool with a Flounder of 0-13-12.
The top junior was J Copland and no ladies fished.
The clubs next open competition will be the Christmas Fur and Feather Open, which will be held at North Shore, Llandudno on Saturday 4th December, fishing from 6pm until 10pm.
