So,like the title says, after spending most of the summer trying for a Bass Wayne catches 1 on a plug
After a quick call on Wed a little session was planed around the orme yesterday afternoon.Having heard about the revolutionary new lures that have just hit the shops called the slug
Wayne sent his bro down to Menai Bridge yesterday am to pick a couple of packs up (cheers Shaun
) Brotherly love oh
On the way down Wayne told me that if he never got one today then I could have his collection of plugs that he's built up over the summer £150-£200 worth ( I was rubbing my hands quietly!!)So on to the fishing,on arriving at the gate which iv'e got a key for (it saves a good walk) wayne shouts that some T*T had superglued the key hole up on the padlock,so out comes his commando knive and we start picking the glue out, then a min later we realise that the chain would just slip over the top of the post!!So away we go,we get set up at the top of the cliff, and were on our way down to the beach.Just as we get onto the beach the birds are going mad diving in and there's one hell of a shoal of fish causing a disturbance so we leg it down over the rocks and start to fish.3 casts later a big swirl comes up by my slug and nails it,im in, and a short fight later i land a nice little bass of 2.5-3lb
I could see that Wayne was pleased for me but he wanted 1 badly
A move was in order after a quite 10 mins so we walked further down the beach plugging as we went. The water was alive, whitebait everywere and macky chasing them into the shallows it was a hell of a sight!
Here's a picy of the whitebait under your feet (out the way of the macky)
So after another quiet 10 mins Wayne changes to a spinner and starts pulling the macky out saying that he's got to catch something today!Bless him
I carried on plugging but didn't get anything so i switched to some feathers and got a few for tea then went back on the plugs. In the mean time Wayne had a nice little pile of macky behind him on a rock with his bag, but he got carried away with the moment because when he turned around the tide had come in and all his stuff was floating away
I think he managed to save 2 macky!!
So,he changes back to the plugs and sure enough after a while he got a tad excited shouting i've got 1, iv'e got 1,and this is the end result of many frustrating hours
As you can see from the smile he was made up with his first Billy.I put it down to his jacket
And that was that after another fishless hour, so all in all we had cracking afternoon out, a few fish and
It was nice to see a beach that was literaly boiling up with fish, it was crazy. There were a few other lads down there and we saw most of them get a Bass or 2.So HAPPY DAYS well it was untill wayne got back in my van after closing the gate and we got a few meters down the road and realised that he stood in the smelliest dog s**t i've ever smelt, cheers mate me van stinks today
Heres a few more piccys
Me and dog(no not the Mrs)had a nice fresh tea yum yum
