PostSubject: Match 4 16/06/13   Match 4 16/06/13 Empty20th June 2013, 5:07 pm

5 boats fished match 4 last wkend out of Colwyn Bay, we had good reports of plenty of tope around the week before so we thought we'd fish on our door step for a change. Nobody fancied burning loads of petrol on a species hunt so we had a change of format for this match, heaviest round fish 1st and 2nd and heaviest flat fish 1st and 2nd.
The fishing wasn't great to be fair with only 1 tope getting caught and a few nice Huss, the macky must still be holiday because none of the boats found any!

Results were :-

Heaviest round fish
1st o2b @c Tope 34lb
2nd seawitch Huss 13.08.00lb

Heaviest flat fish
1st Basshunter Dab 00.08.12lb
2nd Lady m Dab 00.05.08lb

nice report Dan,what did you think of the new slipway Dan?  I fished from colwyn bay last sunday and thought that they had done a terrible job on the launch site, slipway was ok although a bit steep and the area at the bottom was a right mess  clay and rocks, looks like they have done it on purpose with clean sand either side and a council tractor on site charging ten pound a launch, can't believe they have spent millions pumping sand and left the launch area like that. ps nice Tope well done.

Hiya Bill hope ya all good? That slip way is a joke to be honest! As you say all that money spent on it and they cant get the slip right! The bottom of the slip is a nightmare. Rocks sand bars and no protection from Eastly winds what so ever. Somebody(cbcc) needs there ass kicking. How did you get on last week Bill?? The algee is a nightmare at the moment .

it was the week before last sorry Adam,i had three bass and a codling about three pound, biggest bass was four pound five i think. i took pics of the bottom of the slipway and was going to write to the local paper,i think the harbour master was glad when i went home lol. they have probably done it on purpose to make the jet ski lads pay the tenner for the tractor making there day £30.00 before putting petrol in the ski, bloody joke.have you had many summer species yet? seems to be very slow still, gurnard, mackeral and so on?

Something defo needs to get done about it Bill. The paper sounds like a really good idea:D. As for the summer species out of colwyn bay, that was our first time this year out from there m8. Been out of Treaddur Bay a few times. The fishing has been ok but not amazing. Cod, pollock, wrasse, smoothhound, rays, macky, ling, huss, and all your usual bits. I think all the boats tried to get a few Macky out on Sunday but to no joy what so ever. This algee isnt helping at all is it. Hows the fishing been with u Bill?

went out to holyhead deeps the day of your second match there,i had spurdog's tope and huss over ten pound, good trip but had to leave my anchor, chain and warp ,worth it though.general fishing hasn't been the best, having to work hard, everything seems late, might get out of holyhead soon for some of those double figure hounds,i see there is quite a few twenty plus pounds coming out.i sent an email to the council today making an official complaint and threatend to write to the local paper and got a reply straight away saying they will look into the matter.
