WINTER LEAGUE MATCH 3

25 members fished a very cold evening in this club waters rover, about a dozen took the long walk to Talacre, with 5 of the top 6 bags coming from there.
Andy Lee came out on top with 11 dabs and 3 whiting for 2.59 kgs. 2nd was Paul Jones with an identical bag of 11 and 3 for 2.50, John Jones took 3rd with a bag from Llandulas of 7 whiting and 4 dabs for 2.22, and the last of the cash went to Gary Bates with 5 whiting and 6 dabs for 2.14, from Talacre. Andy Wallis was 5th also with 2.14 , but one less fish, including the heaviest fish, a Talacre whiting just over a pound at 0.46, 6th was Bill McLintock with 2.11
Tom Jones took the junior prize with 2 flounders and 2 dabs for 1.18 kgs. from Splash Point, and top team were Andy Lee and Andy Wallis with 71 points.

I thought i was in for a stinker after a couple of hours of the match. I had a couple of undersized Whiting and then a couple of Dabs that were about 21 cms and couldnt help thinking that we had made a mistake and should have gone to Talacre.

Terry then started catching Dabs in size and Tom managed to find a couple of Flounders to really make me panic.

I had told Tom that the best chance would be when the tide was flooding, and so it proved as Tom found a coule of Dabs to add to his brace of Flounders.



Terry ended up with five Dabs, with a good one of 12 ounces.

Fortunately, i managed a double header of nice Dabs, with the larger of the 2 weighing 14 and a half ounces!!!



Amongst more undersized fish, i was blessed with a treble header of 2 good Dabs and 1 undersize on the last cast, to take my final tally to 4 decent Dabs.

Of the 4 of us that fished the Point, Tom took the honours, then me, then Terry, and Alan was fourth.
