PostSubject: Hi & Help   Hi & Help Empty25th August 2008, 10:46 pm

Hi,
Having spent most of my fishing life on the shore mingled with the occasional charter, not ideal, so I decided to get my own boat. I have recently joined the boat section so that this poor novice can learn from them that know. To start with I have a half canopy that needs to be fitted does anyone know where I can get this done please?

Thanks
TR

Hi Tony and welcome aboard,
Im not sure what you mean by a half canopy, is it a weather canopy that your on about or a canopy for an open boat?? Eithier or i'm not to sure where you would go to get them fitted but im sure 1 of the other lads will be able to point you in right direction.Hope to see you in the future boat matches, we could do with a few more boats attending the matches its a good day out. Very Happy

Sorry Dan for being so vague, what I should have said was I have a "Fishing Canopy" that needs fitting to my Alaska 500 XL and yes I hope to join in the matches. Is that the only time you all get together?

I thought it might of been a weather canopy they're a handy bit of kit but Im not to sure where you could get it fitted though. We could do with investing in 1 of those there realy handy, all the other lads have got 1, handy in the wind and rain and on the rare occasion when its boiling hot.I'm sure 1 of the other lads that have got 1 will be able to advise you on that 1.
The matches are a good day out, nothing to serious but with a bit of competitiveness. It's the only time we all get together really.Me and the bro try and get out most weekends when there's a good forecast normally off the Bay so if you ever fancy tagging along give us a shout. This is our first year boat fishing, we've fished the shore for years but fancied a change and we've not looked back. We've had some nice fish this summer,it beats catching piddly whiting and dabs Very Happy. All the boat lads are good bunch and will help you out.

Hi Tony and welcome to the club.
A few of the boats fishing the matches are fitted with half canopies as Dan said, i think they are all basically the same so if you where to have a look at Goldilocks or Bass Hunter who both have the canopies fitted you would get a good idea how to fit yours, i'm afraid we have no Alaska 500s fishing in the section at the moment but we do have anglers who have owned them in the past and would advise on fitting,if you wanted to have a look at the fittings on Bass Hunter (175) or Goldilocks (explorer elite) i'm sure we could arrange something.
